Our philosophy speaks to what we believe and how to seek to realize it in our daily efforts. At the heart of our activities and programs, we are committed to finishing what we start. We not only give back; we are convinced that investing in our communities requires more and to that extent we are intentional in identifying impactful opportunities to make generational growth opportunities in communities. We are participatory and the more we are engaged with ALL generations of chattel slavery survivor communities, the more our communities will discover and leverage their strengths thereby reducing their weaknesses and threats. Our philosophy can be summarized in three words: reclaim, restore and reaffirm.
Reclaim ~ How do we move forward when we really need to leverage the strength of our past to create a bridge toward a preferred future that holds the fortunes of tomorrow?
Restore ~ Putting back does not always mean replacing what was destroyed. It may be better seen as a systematic opportunity to put in place what was not, and build a future from what was not with what is so that creativity will produce what is to be.
Reaffirm ~ Liberation requires us to be free from something, and it also requires us to be free toward something. The pulsating call for organizations is not from what they have achieved, but rather it is from what they must accomplish.
